Tres Tipos Gráficos is a Madrid-based design studio founded by Alberto Salván and Nicolás Reyners. Originally focused on cultural projects, we export our knowledge working with artists, curators, architects and designers to projects related to Branding, Product Design, Visual Communication and Retail.

We craft unique projects through solid concepts and contemporary aesthetics. We find new approaches in order to challenge design codes and to explore new visual languages.

Our work has been recognized with awards such as Gràffica - Best Design and Visual Culture 2015, D&AD Award wood pencil (London) 2015, several ADG Laus between 2010 and 2019, Top Fedrigoni Award (Parma) 2013, a Type Directors Club (New York) 2012 distinction, and a PHotoEspaña award to the Best Photobook 2012, among others.

Both partners have a longtime career as teachers in IED Madrid in Branding, Visual Identity and Master Course direction. They also collaborate as lecturers and workshops with Universidad Europea de Madrid, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Espositivo Academy, Mr Marcel School, Esdesign Barcelona and Blank Paper among others.

Teatro de La Abadía is one the most historic theatres in Madrid, known for staging the finest Spanish contemporary theatre. It is located in the former La Sagrada Familia Church. The company focuses on the proximity of the stage and the audience, sharing a sense of intelligent entertainment. The theatre is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2015, accompanied by a completely revamped identity and visual system.

In addition to the main graphic elements of the identity, we illustrated the season’s program using photographs of a set of iconic objects that had been used over the years in the staging of various plays. We worked with the photographer and artist Fernando Maselli.

“Abadía Abierta” is the name of the program inside the theatre that organizes workshops, meetings and other events. The theatre also serves as one of the hosts of the “Cities on Stage” European theatre program. Both activities have their own specific style within the main identity.
